PostGIS, SQL Sever Spatial and Oracle Spatial is established the same way in the administrator and are therefore treated equally in the document. In the example below shows how one establishes a theme based on a PostGIS-datasets.
|Source type||Data source type|
|Connections||Previously established connections. This can be used, alternatively take advantage of the opportunity to establish a new connection using the fields below.|
|Server host||Server name or IP. If the database exists on the same server Adaptive can ‘localhost’ is used.|
|Server port||Which TCP / IP port database communicates på.
Note: If Oracle needs a write port number @ database SID
|User name||A username to the database|
|User password||A password for the database|
|Spatial||This must be selected if the database has spatial functions, that it has «Spatial extensions or similar» For example:
Selecting this also changes the underlying fields / drop-down menus.
Other database connections are described in the next section.
|Connect||Button. This is used after all overlying properties are filled. This performs a connection and helps to populate dropdown «Database name».|
|Custom config||Button. This can be used to override already set parameters in DB Settings. For example, changing the Table name or Spatial Data Type|
|Database name||Name of the available databases. When selecting database it populates the dropdown «Table name».|
|Table name||Name of available tables and views. When choosing table/view it populates the pulldown menus «Id column» and «Geom column.»|
|Database filter||This describes selection / data extraction from the database. This is populated automatically. This can, of SQL personnel, be manipulated to get the desired data extraction, for example by adding the WHERE expression.
Note This field may not contain æ, ø, å or other special characters. If it contains such characters, the theme will not be indexed. Falls due to a technical limitation of the indexing engine related to text encoding. If the data source has column names with these letters can create a database view to circumvent the problem. Otherwise, contact the support for other opportunities
|Id column||Selected here one field/column that has unique IDs. This should be of type «Integer.»|
|Geom column||Selected a field / column that contains the geometry.
Note: If the data source has several geometry columns, then indexing the engine due to a technical limitation always select the first. If it is not the first geometry column to be used and the topic should be indexed, must create a query in the Database filter that either include only one geometry column, or put them in the correct order.
|Spatial data type||This describes the geometry type to selected dataset. This is populated automatically. Where this is not possible, you must enter a valid value. Valid values:
|EPSG||This describes coordinate the selected data set. This is populated automatically. Where this is not possible one must select the data set coordinate system.|
|Disable dataview||By checking here you will not be able to display data in table view (data view). If both this and the Disable feature info is checked will restrict all data requests (May be useful for sensitive data).|
|Disable feature info||By checking here you will not be able to view details on hits by click in map. If both this and Disable Data view is checked will restrict all data requests (May be useful for sensitive data). If Disable click in map search is checked, this automatically also tick.|
|Disable text search||By checking here you will not be able to search on the topic with text search in the client.|
|Disable click in map search||By checking here the theme will not give results at the click to map. Disable feature info will automatically be ticked off if this is selected.|
|Allow auto refresh||By checking here the user can activate the auto update in the theme select the theme. This means that the theme is updated automatically every 20 seconds.|
|Auto refresh enabled by default||By checking here it will automatically update the theme be activated as soon as the topic turned on the theme selector.|
|Data extent||This describes extravasation / extent of selected data sets. Populated automatically.|
|Min Scale||If one want a scaled theme, set the minimum scale map must have for it to be visible.|
|Max Scale||If one want a scaled theme, set the maximum scale map may have for it to be visible.|
When all the above items are selected, you can move on to the remaining tabs. They are generally described in later sections.
